This week we welcome a new member to the Creation team Rhydian Hicks, who is joining as an intern for the next few months. He will be running our newsdesk, writing blogs, helping us with Twitter feeds and of course making the odd cuppa for the team.
Born and raised in Cardiff, Rhydian went on to attend the University of Manchester graduating with a degree in Chemistry, which will be useful for some of our technical customers. Since graduating Rhydian has kept himself busy, spending three months in Uganda with a community development charity teaching basic IT and professional writing skills. On returning he moved to London working for the food and culture magazine Good Things, however he quickly realised that Manchester was where his heart was at, “I’ve been here on and off for five years now and I just love it. The people, the culture, the £3 pints there’s no drawback, well maybe the weather. I don’t think that I’ll be leaving any time soon.”
Rhydian is a big music fan and can often be found at a gig in one of Manchester’s many small venues. He has also involved himself heavily in Manchester’s music scene, having organised his own club night as a student and been an active DJ for several years. He is currently helping out Beat Bazaar, a small record label, with their PR and social media output. (Being a Welshman, Rhydian is a mandatory rugby fan and is apparently looking forward to seeing Wales give England another battering… We’ll see about that!)
